IN THE GLOW OF A WINTER'S EVE- Winter Gospel Show

Singer/songwriter LARISSA TORMEY has announced a concert at the TUAR ARD in Moate on February 3d 2023, where she'll be joined by very special guests JAMES KILBANE and RACHEL GOODE. The news of Larissa's IN THE GLOW OF A WINTER'S EVE concert comes as the Kilbeggan artist prepares to join The Sheerin Family Band, Cliona Hagan, Johnny Brady, and the Rabbette Family for a sold-out CULTURE NIGHT concert, described as 'a unique evening of music and song from around the world' - also taking place at the Tuar Ard - this coming Thursday night, October 27th.

Larissa's February 3d concert will also celebrate the forthcoming release of her winter contemporary single, also called In The Glow Of A Winter's Eve, an original co-write with Anthony Sullivan. "This is a night I'm really looking forward to", declares Larissa, explaining, "because a gospel/contemporary/folk concert is something that I've wanted to do for a long time. So we've been working on ideas for this since early in the year actually, so it's very exciting that we've finally been able to announce it and share the details with everyone."

And among the details that Larissa is most excited about are her very special guests on the night, James Kilbane and Rachel Goode...

"I've been a fan of James for many years, I just love his voice and the fact that there's a very real, deep, and spiritual element to how he sings and performs. And this is something that you can really get a sense of from James as a person as well, the depth of his spirit. I was delighted to be a guest of his on his 'Rewind' show on Shalom TV which we filmed recently, and which will air on November 9th, I believe. We had the loveliest time talking about things that are important to both of us in our lives. So the chance to share a stage with James in February will definitely stand out as one of the highlights of my career when I look back on 2023."

And Larissa is a big fan of her other special guest too... "I first heard Rachel sing when she was on Glór Tíre earlier this year, and of course she was a finalist in Eurosong as well. Her voice is glorious! And what I love about her talent is that she can reach a listener's soul singing any kind of song. For anybody who wants to know what I mean by that, all they have to do is go to Rachel's Facebook page and spend a little time listening to some of the videos she has posted. But I'll warn you now, all that you'll want to do is continue listening to her all day long. So you will lose at least a day because you just don't want to stop enjoying her voice. Having a voice like Rachel's is something quite special. And like James, the wonderful thing about Rachel is that she has a heart and personality that matches the beauty of her voice. It will be a pleasure to have Rachel as a guest for this concert, and a privilege to sing on the same stage as her."

Larissa, who launched her brand new eponymously titled album with a sold-out show at Bewley's Cafe Theatre in Dublin in September, will also release a new Christmas single next month. The song, also called In The Glow Of A Winter's Eve, has been co-written with songwriter and poet Anthony Sullivan.

"We didn't want to write a song that would really put Christmas in your face", explains Larissa. "Instead, we wanted to create something that would evoke all the best feelings of that time of year. We wanted to write something that would make people 'feel' Christmas, rather than just know it's Christmas because we keep saying it in the song! [Laughs]. With Anthony's lyrics and my melody, we found something that we believed - that we hoped! - would do this.

Then my producer, the extraordinarily gifted Kevin Whyms, added his magic touch to things. And now we have a song that we love and that we hope everyone will enjoy when they hear it."
